I'd like to tell you about my family.
Here are a few stories that you might find interesting.
Well, I guess I'll start with my mother's side of the family. I never knew her dad, my grandfather, and she really didn't either. He died when she was very young. She said that her mother always had nothing but good things to say about him though. My grandma loved him greatly, and because of this she never remarried.
I bearly remember my Grandma Sis, my mom's mom. She died when I was very young. One thing I do remember is a when she used to babysit my brother and me. I was a very picky eater. I almost never finished a meal my mom made, unless it was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! So whenever my mom would drop us off at my gram's, she would say,"Now mom, Justin doesn't get any snacks because he didn't eat his dinner." So when time came to eat bed-time snacks, she would ask,"Ritz crackers and peanut butter doesn't count as a snack does it?" She'd always find some way to hook me up!
I didn't know my dad's father, Grampa Sam, either. I do know I got my middle name from him, though! The only stories I hear about him are the ones my dad and uncles tell when they get together. Like how they would keep the money he gave them for the church collection plate on Sunday, and go play pinball...and how they got their hides whipped whith the "leather strap" when he found out. One time they hid the leather strap, and when he noticed it was missing they ran. He grabbed the closest thing, which happened to be an ash tray, stormed out onto the porch and whizzed it at them. It clunked my uncle sam, who was about thirty yards away, smack in the back of the head. Of course that didn't teach them because there are so many more stories.
Now my grandma Jay, my dad's mom, wasn't as violent. Then again, I was always scared of her when I was little. She is the only grandparent I have now, and I love her to death. We almost lost her about five months ago; I was never so upset in my life. She got real sick and needs heart surgery, but she has to gain more weight and get healthier first. She's starting to look a lot better. She's gained weight and looks happier. She had to quit smoking, which is great because I always hated going over there when I was younger because when I came home I smelled like smoke. Not only did I, but so did my blanky...my blanket.
